I was able to work a double on Tuesday and get Thursday off so I could be with her. Her Dad & Susan were also able to make the trip from Nebraska. It was so nice to have them there, not only to support her but for me too.
Mrs. Schmitty was a real trooper and made if through her operation with no real complications. The only real surprise was that her cyst had fused to her liver. She did experience a lot of pain when she first woke up but I was able to gain access to the recovery area and soothe her a little. I'm pretty sure the Morphine drip helped a little too.

Over the next day and a half we have several visitors, her Dad and Susan of course, as well as my Mom and Matt. Her Doc was fantastic and I can't say enough about the excellent care she got from all her nurses and aids. The only thing I was not a fan of was the recliner in her room; it didn't make very comfortable bed. She had a rough first day but by 5pm of day two they took out her drain tube/bulb and she was ready to go home.

After a stop to get my girl some chicken fingers at checkers we were home to recover. I have been doing my best to make sure she doesn't lift a finger but every once in a while I will catch her trying to do the dishes or put laundry away. We have spent the last two days pumping her up with vicodin and watching movies. I had to go to work today but I made her promise not go anywhere but the couch and the bed (hopefully she listens).
We have been shown a bunch of love and support from everybody around us from friends and family to folks at her work and mine. Thank your very much. We are so lucky to have people that care in our lives.
